Coonabarabran Visitor Information Centre joins the new online network in September with a fully revamped Quest TourismTouchscreen. Using a state-of-the-art Ethernet over power (EOP) device, we were able to connect the kiosk to the VIC’s existing network without the need to run a new internet cable to the installation point. This great innovation has allowed us to upgrade the TourismTouchscreen Network in even the most remote areas to provide internet-based features to hosts and visitors, by using existing power lines to run internet from the host’s modem.
Coonabarabran Visitor Information Centre volunteer Barbara and tourism officer Mandy show off the new Quest kiosk. The new features are accessible even afterhours through the use of the through-glass touchpad.
