The Murray - a tale of three states, and river the lifeblood of tourism.

We have all seen day after day premiers doing their best but at odds to keep tourism alive and protect our health.

Sometimes you wonder why we don’t have one less level of government! Travelling down the Murray from Euston/Robinvale to Swan Hill, Echuca/Moama, Yarrawonga/Mulwala, Rutherglen and Albury/Wodonga it was apparent to me just how tough it has been with our border communities and twin towns. While the Victoria side had a reprieve with the lockdown ending and Melbournians flowing into the regions and filling up the coffers on the Victorian side it has been really tough on the NSW side when the Victorian border went up.

Many losing all their January bookings. Our hope is with you for both borders to now finally stay down for Easter.

On the positive side, we have taken the opportunity to upgrade right along the Murray and look forward to special COVID rebound packages working with each council and Visitor Centre over the next quarter. Pictured is myself with Rebecca Lyons of Swan Hill. Then onto SA to assist.
