Paul BuckleyPaul Buckley – Chief Executive Officer
After graduating from ANU Computer Science and a Grad Diploma in Expert Systems and the Human Computer Interface, Paul worked in several major Commonwealth Departments for seven years, including heading up major Expert Systems rollouts nationally. Paul was the Federal Government representative on the ACT Government’s Austouch program which integrated local and federal delivery around Canberra. He then struck out with his own company, Datatrax, in 1993. Datatrax launched the initial TourismTouchscreen system at the Rydges Canberra Capital Hill to an auditorium which was packed with the majority of iconic tourism operators from around the nation’s capital.The ongoing upgrade of the network throughout three nations, the continual review of the visitor centres in several other nations, and the foray into the mobile market has provided some insight into the challenges and opportunities facing visitor centres, both in keeping up with the pace of change within IT over two decades and in harnessing existing resources for an expanding digital strategy.
Ellen McIlveenEllen McIlveen – Communications Manager
Ellen has been with Datatrax since 2011, after arriving in Australia from her native Canada in 2010. Educated in the humanities and international business, Ellen brings administrative and communications experience from working in the human resources and legal fields. At Datatrax she looks after office administration and communications including client service, event planning, proposals, and correspondence.
Joe CraddyJoe Craddy – Operations Manager
Joe joined Datatrax in 2005 in a part-time technical support role while studying at university, and then moved into a full-time marketing role upon attaining his Bachelor of Commerce. Currently, as Operations Manager, Joe oversees a variety of functions including recruitment and training, quality assurance, custom system sales, and support of our regional Project Manager force.
Bobbie GreenBobbie Green – Finance Manager
Bobbie’s extensive experience in the accounting field includes running her own bookkeeping service. She has also done work for several non-profit organisations in Canberra including Anglicare and St. John’s Reid. Since joining Datatrax in 2008, Bobbie has taken care of accounts payable and receivable, as well as budgeting and financial administration.
Sacha NixonSacha Nixon – Art Manager
Sacha has been the Art Manager at Datatrax since 2001 and has been instrumental in all of our creative activities in that time. Armed with a Bachelor of Visual Arts and an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design, he has also worked for the National Gallery of Australia as an art handler and provided technical assistance for the Studio One community access printmaking workshop. Sacha’s current oversights include the creation of client promotions and all of Datatrax’s internal marketing material.
Steve NicholSteve Nichol – Technical Support Manager
Steve has been our Technical Support Manager since 2010 and brings an in-depth understanding of computer systems and hardware. His previous experience includes an eight-year tenure as the operations manager for a car hire agency and over one year managing a GPS-based self-drive tour operator in the busy Canadian tourist town of Banff in the Rocky Mountains. Steve now looks after the TourismTouchscreen Network and its systems, as well as general technical support.
Julian MallettJulian Mallett – Web Manager
Julian started with Datatrax in 2010 while completing an engineering degree at the Australian National University. He had previously completed an advanced diploma in 3D animation and originally worked as an artist making graphics for the TourismTouchscreen system. Since finishing his degree Julian is now programming for Datatrax full-time, and wrote the code for the online kiosks, the Take You There mobile app and our online client relations management system.
Mel2Mélanie Sabarotz – French Business Development Manager
Hailing from Bayonne, France, Mel has been employed with Datatrax since 2010. Mel’s degree in land planning and tourism, combined with her previous experience as a town hall project manager and campground assistant manager, has helped her to excel in her work. She now oversees all operations in France with a growing network of kiosk locations and a workforce of Project Managers.

Michelle Buckley – Administration Manager
A working Director of Datatrax Pty Limited and overall Administration Manager of all Datatrax companies, Michelle joined the company in 1998 and has been instrumental in the decision process and direction of the company since that time. With a background in the arts and finance, her skills continue to be valued, both at the daily practical level with our finance team, and in managing the administration of the complex commercial law requirements in several countries.
