After graduating from ANU Computer Science and a Grad Diploma in Expert Systems and the Human Computer Interface, Paul worked in several major Commonwealth Departments for seven years, including heading up major Expert Systems rollouts nationally. Paul was the Federal Government representative on the ACT Government’s Austouch program which integrated local and federal delivery around Canberra. He then struck out with his own company, Datatrax, in 1993. Datatrax launched the initial TourismTouchscreen system at the Rydges Canberra Capital Hill to an auditorium which was packed with the majority of iconic tourism operators from around the nation’s capital.The ongoing upgrade of the network throughout three nations, the continual review of the visitor centres in several other nations, and the foray into the mobile market has provided some insight into the challenges and opportunities facing visitor centres, both in keeping up with the pace of change within IT over two decades and in harnessing existing resources for an expanding digital strategy.
Sacha has been the Art Manager at Datatrax since 2001 and has been instrumental in all of our creative activities in that time. Armed with a Bachelor of Visual Arts and an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design, he has also worked for the National Gallery of Australia as an art handler and provided technical assistance for the Studio One community access printmaking workshop. Sacha’s current oversights include the creation of client promotions and all of Datatrax’s internal marketing material.
Steve has been our Technical Support Manager since 2010 and brings an in-depth understanding of computer systems and hardware. His previous experience includes an eight-year tenure as the operations manager for a car hire agency and over one year managing a GPS-based self-drive tour operator in the busy Canadian tourist town of Banff in the Rocky Mountains. Steve now looks after the TourismTouchscreen Network and its systems, as well as general technical support.
Bobbie Green – Administration Manager
Jill has returned to Datatrax in 2014 following a five-year stint at the Department of Employment. She works closely with Bobbie, and now looks after accounts receivable. Jill combines her good-natured phone manner with a perseverance and desire to reach a satisfactory outcome for all involved.
Lucas Johnson – Business Development Manager
Joining Datatrax in October 2015, Lucas brings a wealth of Sales and Account Management experience to the team. Facing an ever evolving digital landscape in business, he looks forward to the challenge as Datatrax continues to promote businesses directly to the National and International tourism market
Matthew Ramos – Business Development Manager
Matthew joined Datatrax back in November of 2015 and has demonstrated he is a force to be reckoned with in the sales industry since his arrival. Surpassing expectations and instilling his passion for helping people into every facet of his work, Matthew relishes the opportunity he has to help take businesses to new heights and levels of success whilst creating strong relationships and even friendships along the way.
