Grindelwald Tasmania
It has been a real pleasure to spend some time in the Tamar Valley over late February and early March. Gridelwald is a unique attraction and a great base central to Launceston and attractions such as the Beaconsfield Mine Heritage Centre and of course the excellent wineries. The main mission was an update and service run of the units in Northern Tasmania.
You can see the Touchscreens service for travelers in the foyer and at Visitor Centers. More and more hotels and attractions are adding screens to bring the local area to life with sound and video, and to help travelers research our network. They could be in Grindelwald today and Yarrawonga next week, because that’s how tourism works in 2025. We’ve attended Tourism Top End meetings where hoteliers tell us that it’s impossible to predict staffing. Last-minute bookings are the norm.
The understanding is that people still motivated to travel and take a break, but they might have to take shorter trips and stick to what they can afford but they are booking just in time and cheap airfares play a big part. In fact, the couple next to me on the plane decided to go to Tasmania the night before. So it is the same for the north of Australia and the south.
Enjoy the holidays
